Our Favorite Recipe From Mom
By Kieran & Genevieve Kavanaugh
Joyce’s Coffee Cake
We know! We’re posting two Coffee Cake Recipes this month. When we asked our contributors, what their favorite recipe was from their Mom’s was, we couldn’t help but ask ourselves the same question.
When we took a moment to think about it, both Kieran and I have a strong memory tied to one recipe his step-mom makes every time we visit.
More often or Joyce would have Coffee Cake ready for any occasion. When we came home from school, sports or just cause. This coffee cake was always around and we always fight over it. - Kieran
With us living out of state (we’re in MA and my in-laws in CT), every time we have come for a visit, Joyce would have this coffee cake in the cake display.
It was perfect with coffee every morning and was baked for us for our wedding weekend.
I have yet to attempt to recreate this recipe only out of sheer fear that something would be off. Joyce is an amazing cook & baker, I don’t want to disappoint.
