Here's How to NOT Get Overwhelmed with Pre-Black Friday, Black Friday Deals
BY GENEVIEVE KAVANAUGH, EDITOR DAILY ORIGIN
Is your inbox being inundated with email after email of pre-black Friday promotions? That’s because this time of year companies are providing their customers with the best prices of the season.
All of this can get overwhelming, especially since retailers are encouraging consumers to start their holiday shopping even earlier this year. The world has seen a shift in our global supply chain. As result, shipping delays and lead times are going to provide a challenge for holiday shopping.
Being prepared to get your holiday shopping done earlier this year may not be a bad thing. Before you press the “BUY NOW” button, here’s how to avoid overbuying (one for me, one for you style) by asking yourself these questions.
Who/What am I shopping for?
It’s most likely you are getting notified about companies you have shopped at or would like to shop at in the future. So ask yourself,
Who / what am I shopping for?
Is it a gift?
Is it something that is needed for you, your house, etc?
Is this just a good deal?
Shopping for a Gift
Gift-giving can be so satisfying for some, stressful for others. So put some thought into it. Just because you like it or it’s a great deal does not mean the other person will love it. Does the person receiving the gift, actually want, need, or could use what you are gifting them?

It’s something I need
Do some research, can you find it on sites like Chairish, Facebook Marketplace, or Poshmark? Although not everything can be found second-hand, that dones’t mean you still can’t look at how you can save money.
We use sites like Honey or visit well-known Instagram influencers. Influencers partner with some top brand names and usually have an affiliate link or discount code saved within their profiles.

Just Love a Good Deal
Who can blame you, but is that deal actually the best deal you can get? We recommend doing your research again. Sometimes promotions aren’t always as great as they seem. For example, a website claims 50% off everything for one day only, but the price is no different than 3-weeks prior to the sale. Hey, it happens and it’s better to be prepared. Next, ask yourself, can you shop second-hand?
