DO FIT DEC Playlist
Recap The Best From DO FIT Playlists This Year + New Tunes to Cap Off 2020
Everyone has been posting their Spotify wrapped but if you share your account with another person you may see some swayed recaps, Mom’s amirite?
We’ve been making playlists for many years now. And although it’s difficult to think that January + February was apart of 2020 there were some really great songs released earlier this year. (Hello Meek Mills + Justin Timberlake)
BEST WORKOUT PAIRING:
We highly recommend hitting play as soon as you start warming up. Songs #1-3 is a perfect pairing for getting the body moving. The songs build in BPM after that, so continuing your warm-up but breaking into the beginning of your workout at song #4. Once you come upon songs #7 - 14 you should be hitting the peak of your workout, pushing hard as the BPM’s increase (and maybe the volume too). Finish the workout strong with song #21 and start to slow it down, cool it down #22 + on.
Unexpected Jam of the Month:
YUNGBLUD- Acting Like That featuring Machine Gun Kelly. At first listen, Machine Gun Kelly has a hint of Post Malone Vibes to his voice in the opening verse. This song has the flow of hip hop but the drums and guitar to feel a little more punk-rock.
Reoccurring artist on the top of DO FIT Playlists:
Last month I mentioned Sam Smith takes top place for reoccurring artist and although he is featured on this playlist, we’re nominating Future, as he was our top artist of 2020. To be honest we could easily add every song off his High Off Life album that dropped at the peak of quarantine this year. We’re not saying he’s the only one who got us through, but this whole album sure did help.
Reoccurring genre on the top of DO FIT Playlists:
New for this year Latin music has made an appearance on all of the DO FIT playlists. No surprise here. Bad Bunny was a top artist that increased our listening to other Latin artists like, Becky G, J Lavin, ROSALIA, and Jessie Reyez.
There are two favorites on this playlist and there is a theme because these two songs pair English + Spanish. The Weeknd Blinding Lights featuring ROSALIA and JP Saxe- If The World Was Ending featuring Evaluna Montaner.
Local Artist Call Out:
The first song that started the DO FIT DEC Playlist is Natalie Joly. A local (to Boston) artist, who has been releasing originals since she was a kid (her covers are pretty amazing as well). Do yourself a favor and check out her Instagram page and most importantly her self-produced video to the Running Circles song. If this video + song doesn’t make you feel appreciative of all the things you’ve gone through since March, we don’t know what to tell you.
