Sunday, June 20th, The Summer Solstice, is the longest day of the year, a day of celebrating the Sun’s standstill on the equator (in the Northern Hemisphere) for a moment (11:32 PM, EDT).

The meaning derives from Latin, Sun, ‘sol’, and ‘’sistere”, to stand still. The Sun in Astrology signifies strength, power, dignity, heart, vitality, spirit, and the father. Happy Father’s Day!

The celebration of the Sun has occurred throughout the world with its ancient traditions from the Aztecs in New Mexico to Egypt at the Great Pyramid of Gaza, at Machu Picchu, in Peru, Stonehenge in EnglandChichen Itza, Mexico, and Sweden, a country with months of darkness, Swedish people, continuously dance around the Maypole celebrating the Sun’s Standstill as it stays light for days.

The forces generating the Sun’s standstill invites romance, fertility, and an awakened awareness of Life itself.

Sweet customs of collecting herbs into an aphrodisiac bundle, or picking seven wildflowers, put under a pillow, and dream about a new or continuing relationship, are encouraged.

Rose, lavender, vanilla, cacao, cinnamon, or ginger, and anything in bloom around you will enhance your dreams. Flower garlands are made, the ladies' hair is adorned, and they dance … all night long.

This Summer Solstice, also defined as Mid-Summer, is a way to celebrate the longest and brightest day, perhaps, even more, this June, after a year of isolation.

Let us take a deep breath and hold it for a moment. Expand the chest. Become aware of your breath within, feel, see, or sense an inner calmness and appreciation of your current situation. Breathe out and let go of what does not serve you anymore. Again, become aware of your breath. Repeat this a few times, allowing the in and out breath to slow down your body and mind. As you become more still, the breath of stillness will allow you to become aware of the Light within your own Essence.

The two major planets observed during 2021 are Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus.

Saturn in Aquarius, an Air sign signifies governments, restrictions, and foundations. The controversial planet requires freedom, justice, and new structures of social disparities.

Uranus, in Earth sign Taurus, allows those who demand freedom to raise their voices, peacefully protests, and not bother with any type of face covering, or vaccine for that matter while still respecting individuals with compromised health concerns.

The hits of the Saturn and Uranus meeting in the Sky, February 17, June 14, and December 24, 2021, attest to a slow but steady improvement of their 20-year-cycle during the current times.

The two Gods challenge each other, we respect them as equal, and a division of opinions occurs between Saturn and Uranus. The opportunity for personal growth is a freedom of choice and compliance to that decision. Lucky us that we have a choice!!!

Jupiter, in Aquarius during 2021, the big guy in the Sky moved back into Pisces in May, will stop his track on June 20th, as he retrogrades and will not move forward until October 18th, suggesting we don’t run too fast during the summer months.

Pisces, the sign of compassion, and healing is also the sign that shows confusion, misinformation with a shape-shifting personality.

Saturn, in Aquarius, stationed retrograde in May and will not move forward until October 11. This is a beneficial aspect to be aware of this summer, as Saturn rules restrictions and discipline, and Jupiter moves fast, the celebration of the Summer Solstice will be remembered by many.

The mid-summer Sun continues with its long days before and after the week of June 20. We celebrate Father’s Day and so much more! It is a time to enjoy the summer months spending time with family and friends.

The Sun enters the Water element, Cancer, bringing forth caring and nurturing at this standstill.  Mercury, the God transferring messages, has been retrograde in Gemini since May 29, confusing, misplaced keys or phones, but also beneficial for creative writing, the arts, and finishing projects around the house. Mercury moves forward on June 22. Still, in Gemini, lost items and recent mistakes will be found.

A Capricorn Full Moon on June 24 with her Moon-Light shining, together with the days being longer, many folks might not be able to sleep. With your desire to dance and enjoy the bright days and nights, go for it! Please keep it safe and become aware of your Light within.

Happy Summer Solstice,

With Many Blessings from the Sky,
