How to Dress to Flatter your Figure and Gain Confidence
By Gigi Williams of Fashology
Have a closet full of clothes that you don’t wear? Do you get overwhelmed with getting dressed every morning? Or maybe it takes you a while to find an outfit that you feel fabulous in?
Here at Fashology we truly believe that your clothes should amplify your unique beauty! We are all beautiful in our own way no matter our body type, skin tone, career, lifestyle, etc. This should be celebrated!
At some point, everyone has experienced discouragement when out shopping for clothes or getting dressed. To avoid these feelings, we challenge our clients to tailor their wardrobe on four main pillars: body type, fashion personality, lifestyle, and budget. Creating a closet with these key points in mind will increase your confidence, which will be noticeably different in the way you carry yourself and decrease things like buyer’s remorse.
Today, we will break down the four main body types and recommend what works best and what to avoid: the rectangle, inverted triangle, triangle, and hourglass. A little disclaimer, if you find yourself wearing something on your “avoid” list but feel 100% confident in we encourage you to keep wearing whatever it may be. At the end of the day, it’s all about wearing what makes you feel like the beautiful human you are!

We hope you can glean some golden nuggets from this article, information that helps define your body type with tips that allow you to dress more confidently. We all have different body types, each with its own fabulous assets that should be embraced and celebrated. Unfortunately, as humans, we tend to beat ourselves up by getting consumed by the numerical digit on the tag of our pants. Honestly, I invite you to cut the tags out of your apparel if this is something that does not serve you joy. Each brand or clothing line cuts its items with different specifications. I have in my closet anything that is a size 2-10 due to the inconsistencies within the industry. Dress for yourself. Dress for your body now!
